Most of the time a big question haunts all intellectual people. Which is "What should we do?, to our life, our career, our money, our neighborhood, our society, our government, world and universe!" And when we are not satisfied with our work or personal life, this question becomes itchy. After sometime, we strongly required some cure and thus begins a start over.
Many people haven't courage to put a foot in a new direction, many look around and wait for omens or signal from universe/omens, when to push the start button, many start without thinking of different aspects of the new path. I would like to share a line here for new travelers.
"If you are confused and want to know, how the new path will be, ask those who are returning on the same path."

This feeling is complicated, you may feel excited and fearful at the same time, which trills you and believe me this is an omen for Adventurous people.
Like Sachin is trilled, waiting for a winning match.

I too captured with the feeling of not doing new to life, or learning something meaningful. As an optimistic behavior, which leads me sometime, I traveled to Some monuments in Alwar, Mumbai, Pune and finally Laddakh to get the signals. and I concluded from whole searching that the more high you go, more knowledge you gain, more questions you ask to yourself; less you get the signals :) {true with electronics equipment too}.
I was standing on a Y-way path with 2 options in front of me, either go to USA and make money or do something useful and pleasant to my work life and stay with family.
I asked IBM to support my Idea and they did, I finally fall into a new life, where no work to do, just to study all scattered knowledge around me.
This is not 'finale' of my professional life, but sure this is a pause, and I am confident that it will not last long.
I would like to share some feeling and how to deal with them, when a monthly salary is stopped, and you have just got what you have earned till the date (money and knowledge).
First, you enjoyed it like you are on a holiday, even without going outside or visiting places; as a software person to relax, I think, you just don't want to hear some words like 'deadline, report, status meeting, delayed project and so on..'
Then, you get bored, as there are no friends to accompany you for time pass chat during breakfast, lunch, evening walks. This may become hard for you, but it will overcome if you share sometime with your family, and increase your reading habit.
Then, you afraid of failure, as you may have learnt some skills like "how to be lazy, how to postpone the work near to deadline, how to ignore manager's remarks, evolution etc." But now you are the manager of your activity and its painful, so again read some management fundas and back on the track.
When you overcome all of above feelings, you feel relaxed, motivated, and full of energy and knowledge. Whenever you see something/problem around you, ideas started jumping out of your head.
So, this is arduous process to learn 'the power of knowledge' and believe me there is no other way around.
With warm wishes...
